For Alan and Brenda Borstein, their decision to make a gift to Saint John's Health Center Foundation in support of Saint John’s Cancer Institute’s melanoma program was personal. Both were successfully treated for melanoma, and now they’re helping fund the institute’s groundbreaking work in combatting skin cancer.     The newly renamed Borstein Family Melanoma Program is considered one of the best in the world. “You always have a hope of eliminating a disease in one form or another – making the treatment safer and quicker,” said Alan Borstein. “There’s an awful lot of research to be done.”  https://lnkd.in/gPRUJ8Jc #Philanthropy #CancerResearch   #HealthForABetterWorld   #EasingEveryHealthJourney

Have you met Moxi? 🤖 Providence Saint John's Health Center has two new state-of-the-art collaborative robots! We are so grateful for our Saint John’s community! 💓 Meet business affairs executive and attorney Sara Rutenberg. Sara is a two-time cancer survivor whose family has been involved with Saint John’s for over 35 years. After beating thyroid and breast cancer, Sara has continued to spread awareness and support fellow patients and survivors, joining the Cancer Supportive Care Committee and underwriting the Cancer Mentorship Program at Providence Saint John’s Health Center. The Cancer Mentorship Program pairs patients with a survivor of a similar cancer type to offer guidance and assistance. We are thankful for Sara’s advocacy and were honored to present her with the Ruth Weil Spirit of Hope Award at this year’s Power of Pink. 💓 #breastcancerawareness #cancermentorshipprogram #powerofpink #provsaintjohns
