On behalf of everyone at SWBC, we would like to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. We are forever grateful. It’s the stories of our veteran’s sacrifices that we must never forget. The National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, TX is set to open on March 25, 2025. The SWBC Foundation is a proud donor of the museum that is dedicated to sharing the stories and values of the incredible heroes who have received the Medal of Honor and inspire America to build upon its legacies. Recently, we sat down with Medal of Honor Recipient Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, to discuss his time in the military. Brady had an incredible 34-year career in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Dustoff pilot. During his second tour in Vietnam on Jan. 6, 1968, he was not on duty, but volunteered for an impossible mission to rescue wounded soldiers from a heavily defended enemy territory covered in dense fog. Brady used three aircraft to rescue 51 severely wounded soldiers in one day. By the end of his shift, the helicopters had over 400 bullet holes. Without his tenacious act of valor, many men would have perished from lack of medical treatment. He humbly says the day “was just like any other day,” except that someone recorded it. Maj. Gen. Brady was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions.
