Recently, Providence Swedish, US Family Health Plan and PacMed joined forces to support American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at the Out of the Darkness Walk in #Seattle. Our teams proudly raised over $5,000 for suicide prevention and provided free medication lock bags in partnership with Well Being Trust. We also had the privilege of listening to powerful stories from individuals affected by suicide. Their courage and resilience remind us of the importance of our mission and the difference we can make together. 💞 🔗 Visit http://ms.spr.ly/6047mhYgP to learn more about how you can contribute to #suicideprevention and #support those in need.

How can providers navigate the sensitive conversation around vaccinations with hesitant parents? Dr. Alexander Hamling, pediatrician at PacMed, discusses key techniques to address concerns and highlight the importance of immunizations. "When I speak with parents who are unsure about getting their children vaccinated, I always listen first. It's important to provide a safe environment in which they feel heard and understood. For example, I might say, 'I understand your concerns about vaccines. Can you tell me more about what worries you?' This helps to open up a dialogue and shows that I respect their perspective.'
